Success is an underlying thought of every youth. And to a great extend the old too. Funny enough the level of the success in a person's life is largely determined by the person's definition of success. It takes the grace of God to experience success beyond one's conception of success. Success is not all about finance. Financial success is just one aspect of success. But we will dwell mainly on financial success.
For us to make progress I would like us to know that success is more than just a reward of hard work as most people define it. They are a lot of people around us working hard and struggling daily but still they are not financial successful. Now what is the problem? Was it that they are not working hard enough? Or is their other factors that affect success? And the answer is yes, they are a lot of factors that affect success.
What we call hustling in Nigeria is not a sign of a successful person. Hustling is when a young lady studied mass communication, work with small firm as a typist by day, bar tender by night in a club, and sell bags and shoes on your Instagram account. Yes i know what you’re thinking, what’s wrong with that? Everything is wrong with it. No focus. Success does not come to a jack of all trade, because he is master of none. From where will the success come from? the Instagram commerce or the typing work or the neglected mass communication skills. The success mantra which says "opportunity comes but ones" doesn’t always work.
Success is only achieved when opportunity meets preparedness. Quote me anyway. Therefore, the one of the tips of success is a prepared mind. The lady above can think of being successful when she goes beyond measures to develop her skills in mass communication. It’s way beyond the training gotten from the school alone. It isn’t enough. Attend seminars, training, pay the price and invest in yourself. Time will come when you will enjoy from it. Watch videos and practice to build your skills. A certificate will secure a job for you but your skills will retain and secure your employment. If she succeeds in making herself a professional in her field, she will be sought for and financial success will be the reward of the perceived value.
Pay the price today and invest in yourself. And enjoy the reward tomorrow.
