Tekno Miles vs Kiss Daniel:Face Off

Face Off is where your favourite acts go head to head in a mash up to shape up. On Face Off we make the argument that two crocs, no matter how bad, cannot ply the same waters at the same level. The winds were heavy all day and we felt there could be foreword from the anthills. We were right. The drums sounded and the oracle dropped a surprise.
The assembly of the gods would summon the future for today. It is TeknoMiles vs Kiss Daniel, and we have no argument against the edict of the divinations. Again, the Chief Priest would get to work with 5 criteria: pen cred, wiki tales, micskillz top bite, floetry and, last but not the least (on the contrary, as a matter of fact), tube view.

Pen Cred
Born Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, Kiss Daniel graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2013, with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (that’s Water Engineering in English). From all accounts son of a soldier, Augustine Kelechi Marius, aka Tekno Miles, dropped out of high school, had a stint with a music training academy and was ready for the street after that.

Wiki Tales
Tekno Miles was first signed under K-Money Entertainment, released his first single “Holiday” with featured vocals from Davido, and was on his way. In one event at Abuja where he rendered ‘Onye Ne Kwu’, a sort of cover of Ice Prince’s ‘Oleku’, Tekno met all the people that made him what he is today. These included both Iyanya and Ubi Franklin, CEO of Triple M (Made Men Music) group.
On October 5, 2013, Tekno penned a deal with Made Men Music Group, got featured in their group single banger ‘Yudala’, and quickly filed a line up of impressive singles:  Dance, Anything, Duro, Pana and eventually, Rara.

In 2015 ‘Duro’ won the Nigeria Music Video Awards Best Pop Extra Video category. In 2016 Tekno also won the MTV Africa Music Awards for Best New Act. This placed him in a much enviable position to flip his golden middle finger at The Headies for daring to categorize him as Next Rated, when, as far as he is concerned, he is already rated.

Kiss Daniel met an emperor and owned a crown. From the moment the young and dashing songster met Emperor Geezy, CEO of G-Worldwide Entertainment, in 2013 it was glory all the way. After signing to G-Worldwide entertainment, he dropped his first official single “Shoye”. Shoye was followed by  ‘Woju’, produced by Dj Coublon, the same guy that gave Tekno ‘Duro’. Woju spent eleven weeks on the MTV Base Official Naija Top Ten countdown, including six weeks at the number one spot. After the massive success of Woju KD could pretty do whatever he wanted. With Laye and Mama there was no longer struggle, just fun.

Kiss Daniel had been nominated for over twenty two awards, out of which he had won about ten, including three awards at the 2016 Headies. He bagged the highest of the night.

Floetry
What is a hyena without a laugh? If you hear it in the middle of the night you shiver. What is a lion without a roar? An artist without a punch line is as good as a cobra without a hiss.
Girl i cherish you
I stand for you
I won’t lie to you
But I fit lie for you oh oh
Kiss Daniel, Mama
They say you like cassava
I get big cassava
Baby Pana

The Verdict
The future belongs to all whose names were called. But the square must hand someone a crown before the gods go to sleep.
But who?
We call it for Kiss Daniel, the emperor in line.
