Igbos in some South East states are observing the sit-at –home order by pro-Biafra groups, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, to mark the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra.

The pro-Biafra groups had also given the directive to honour those who died during the Biafra Civil War.

Photographs of the Main Market and New Market in Owerri, the Imo state capital showed that both markets were totally deserted and closed for business to honour the directive.
