A British family of four was killed in a car crash after leaving the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Monday, authorities said.
Adam Stephenson, 30, his wife Maryanne Stephenson, 29, Brian Stephenson, 66, and Sheralyn Stephenson, 56, all from Bristol, were killed after a pickup truck crushed their white rented Mitsubishi sedan when making a turn, Titusville police said.
Authorities believe the family was leaving the Kennedy Space Center after watching Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket launch.
James Walsh, 28, the truck’s driver, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It’s unclear if he’ll be charged.
The Stephensons were driving back to their rental home in Davenport when the 6 p.m. crash happened.
The GPS in the Mitsubishi instructed Adam Stephenson to make a U-turn at an intersection because of an earlier crash on State Road 407 — which was the family’s original path home, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
