Fans think Bran Stark's behavior during Sunday's Game of Thrones is suspicious, and there's a new theory that he could be evil. Spoilers about Sunday's episode lie below. You've been warned!
Last night on Game of Thrones, Bran Stark spent the majority of his time chilling in the forest sleeping (fine, warging) while everyone else dealt with zombies and died to save him. And all those "Bran Is the Night King" conspiracy theorists were disappointed to find out that, whoops, turns out Bran and the Night King are two very different people due to Bran not dying when Arya stabbed the Night King. But here's the thing.
Something about that scene didn't add up. For starters, where did Bran warg to and why was he there for so long? As one fan aptly notes:
"I think there's more going on then what meets the eye. Why else was Bran warged for so long? Could it be going back in time to prevent all this bloodshed? Could he have been making a deal with The Night King? When The Night King walked up to Bran, he looked like he accepted his fate. I just feel like The Night King is Bran, The Night King was going to kill Bran to destroy himself. I mean the way The Night King just looked at Bran, it felt like he had to do it when he didn't want to. Arya ruined the plans for Bran."
When the Night King approached Bran it fully looked like they were having a moment. You'd think the Night King would rush to kill him, but instead they stared wistfully at each other until Arya emerged out of nowhere and killed the Night King. And while sure, some fans are pointing to Bran giving Arya the dagger she used as proof that he always knew her destiny, what if Arya actually ruined Bran's plans? And what if that entire scene where he was warging was actually him leading the Night King directly to where he was in the forest?
Think about it: Bran asked Theon of all people to protect him. This dude isn't exactly known for his consistent bravery, and plus he only had a handful of men by his side. That plan was nevergoingtowork and Bran knew it. He also unnecessarily let Theon die trying to "save him," making sure there were no witnesses to what was about to go down between him and the Night King. And while we're at it, Bran's entire explanation for what the Night King wants with him just doesn't add up. Which brings me to this tweet, ahem:
