We were not given a single drug, they only gave us food everyday- Discharged COVID-19 patients in Niger state claim

Released COVID19 patients in Niger state have spoken about their time at the state's Isolation community.

In a meeting with The Nation, the patients who were released today, May 24, guaranteed that all through their stay at the seclusion place, no medication was managed to them as treatment.

The patients expressed that in spite of the way that they tried positive for COVID-19, they were neither treated nor re-tried before being released.

One of the released patients, who was gotten from Zumba in Shiroro nearby government territory, said he was hoping to be dealt with and given medications all through his stay at the separation community yet was just given food.



"I expected that I will experience some treatment, however separated from food, nothing was given to me as treatment. They didn't give me a solitary medication. They just give us food consistently that's it in a nutshell. No single medication, not even paracetamol was given to me all through the 14 days," the patient who talked on state of namelessness said

He further affirmed his mom and different relations, who were likewise gotten and isolated with him, were additionally treated pitifully. He expressed that after their release, they were not given transportation and advised to discover their direction.

"They just came and requested that we go. They didn't disclose to us how we would move neither did they consider that we might not have any cash to move us home. From that point, we trekked to Dutsen Kuran Gwari before somebody helped us to Sabon Gari intersection. It was at Sabon Gari that a business vehicle conveyed us to Zumba before we obtained cash from our kin to pay the driver" he said

Niger has 26 affirmed COVID-19 cases, with 18 patients on confirmation. Five have been released and one expired.

The state government is yet to respond to this claim.
