South African media character, Pearl Thusi has opened up on her fight with colorism and melancholy.
Thusi in a meeting with podcaster MacG, discussed her fight with being fair looking. She related consuming her skin when she was a youngster for individuals to quit prodding her since she didn't grow up around other fair looking individuals, and furthermore obscuring her skin to find a place with the individuals around her.
She said;
"I used to consume my skin when I was a kid for individuals to quit prodding (me). I didn't grow up around other fair looking individuals.
"These individuals think this 'fair looking' thing began with them. I have had this discussion since I was 11. Individuals think this discussion is new. I had trusted I had buckled down that I had passed that discussion about the shade of my skin."
On her example of overcoming adversity, Thusi added;
"You can't state the sum total of what I have is simply a direct result of something I can't change and anticipate that me should acknowledge that. You can't! That is impolite! I will guard my work. I buckled down. I have stayed in bed parking garages since I was too drained to even consider driving home."
