PRESS STATEMENT: BY HON. Equity ANTHONY EZONFADE OKORODAS
Fine people of the Press, I thank you for going to this public interview. I have taken the choice to address the Press in regard of certain awful improvements that have emerged among me and my ex, Barrister Celia Juliet Ototo of the Ototo Family of Ovom in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. It is presently almost a long time since our partition and separation. This Press Statement is significant to forestall harming hypotheses, misleading statements and through and through lies from people who might need to take advantage of the misfortune that has happened to my home.
At some point during the Covid lockdowns early a year ago, I got data from an unknown source that showed that the remainder of the three youngsters from my past marriage was indeed not my organic kid. Because of the COVID-19 limitations at that point, I needed to stand by until August 2020 to do a DNA test. The DNA test result which turned out in September 2020 affirmed that I was not the organic dad of the kid.
Thus, I met a joint gathering between my more distant family on the one side, and Celia's fatherly and maternal families (i.e., the Ototo Family of Ovom Town and the Agbagidi Family of Yenagoa Town) on the opposite side, where I defied her with the paternity misrepresentation claim.
Despite the fact that she at first firmly demanded that I was the natural dad, she has since admitted to having the youngster with another man throughout our marriage.
This unpleasant demonstration of my ex incited me to direct DNA tests in regard of the two different youngsters. A couple of days back, the outcomes came out. Tragically, none of them is my organic youngster.
This anathema has made horrifying mental injury me, my current spouse, Barrister (Mrs) Ebi Okorodas and the entirety of the honest youngsters included. This is especially so for Ebi, who has needed to consent to have DNA tests on the four offspring of our own marriage. Fortunately, the test outcomes affirm every one of them to be my organic kid.
It is imperative to express that Celia left the marriage when her most youthful youngster (who is presently 17 years old) was only 6 years of age. From that point forward, every last bit of her kids have lived with my better half, Ebi and I, and we have been completely liable for their prosperity and training.
Companions who are near my family would promptly verify the way that except if explicitly educated, nobody could tell that the youngsters were not the organic offspring of my current spouse.
Ebi and I would keep on supporting the kids in any capacity that we can. To be sure, even after the arrival of the main DNA test result which demonstrated that I was not the organic dad of the last youngster, we have kept on paying for his schooling in a private life experience school. The two different youngsters are University students. The initial, a female, will be an alumni in the not so distant future, and the subsequent will before long enter his fourth year of study. We appeal to God for them to beat the injury and become capable residents of our country.
For Celia and her beau or sweethearts, we leave them to their still, small voice. Thanks much.
The Hon. Equity Anthony Ezonfade Okorodas, PhD. Judge
High Court of Delta State
