Tragic - Suspected herdsmen kill five in fresh attack on Benue communities

 Suspected Fulani herders assaulted four towns in Gwer-West neighborhood government space of Benue State and executed five people. 



It was assembled that three others including a pregnant lady were supposedly harmed in the assault that occurred in the early long stretches of Friday, April 30. 


The outfitted herders were said to have gotten away with shot injuries after troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) followed them to the Benue Nasarawa line and drew in them in a weapon duel. 


As per reports, the herders initially attacked Ahume Village along Makurdi/Naka Road however were unstuck by the soldiers who at that point positioned at the town to avert a potential assault by the trespassers. 


One of the locals who distinguished himself as Fidelis revealed to Tribune that while the soldiers were watching Ahume people group, the herders went further to Tse-Nyarei Village and began shooting toward all path slaughtering five individuals and harming others including a pregnant lady. 


The local said that the five dead bodies have so far been recuperated by security offices, while three others including a pregnant lady were saved buzzing with serious gunfire wounds even as many were said to in any case be absent. 


Fidelis said that the dead bodies have been cleared while the injured were likewise taken to the emergency clinic for treatment. 


"There was a pain call that herders assaulted Ahume town along Makurdi-Naka street. As troops positioned in Kula town were cautioned, the criminals rushed to another town Tse Nyarei where they executed three individuals.," he said.
