Nigerian man arrested in Malaysia for scamming a woman over N7m in online love

 A Nigerian man has been captured in Malaysia for supposedly conning a 49-year-elderly person out of her RM78,000 (N7,825,021.75) reserve funds. 



State Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) boss Superintendent E Sundra Rajan in an explanation on Tuesday, June 15, said the 38-year-old suspect was captured during an assault at a townhouse in Jalan Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, June 13. 


He said the suspect was accepted to be engaged with Love Scam exercises and had utilized the name Mahmudin Jafaardi on Facebook. 


"Examinations discovered that the suspect is accepted to complete the action alongside other criminal partners and endeavors to find the others are in progress," he expressed.

Supt Sundra said police are examining whether the suspect has been liable for other comparative love tricks.

"We are presently searching for one of his associates," he said, adding that the suspect is under remand to aid the examination under the Penal Code for cheating. 


Supt Sundra said police began following the suspect after the person in question, a strict instructor held up a police report at Alor Gajah on June 9 after she was tricked out of RM78,000 by the suspect. 


The person in question, a single parent, was conned by a man she had gotten to know on Facebook toward the beginning of May.
