Art Show - Choosing the Next Professional Female Fine Artist In Nigeria

The Maiden Edition of "Choosing The Next Professional Female Fine Artist in Nigeria" Is an Art Show Sponsored by the UN Women in Nigeria, as a part of the recently launched 'Global Black Women's Programme'; an emancipation and equality programme aimed at achieving the global goals of the United Nations.

The Art Show is Scheduled to hold between the 12th and 15th of October 2021 at the Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Spokesperson of the UN Women in Nigeria, Ms Comfort Lamptey while addressing journalists at the UN Women office in Lagos said the show is expected to be the first edition of an annual Art series with its second edition slated for May 2022 and in subsequent years, follow-up editions of the show will be held in May of every year, to commemorate the International Women's Day.

"The Art show will produce a winner; a Female Fine Artist, who will double as an ambassador to UN Women on a global stage, serving also as an emancipation for women in the Fine Arts industry. An industry that' has huge national and international revenue potentials, but has otherwise been neglected in the past.

This Annual Art event aims to cover the huge divide between Nigerian Female Fine Artists and their Western Counter Parts"
