Gunmen abduct Akwa Ibom councillor

 Shooters suspected to be criminals have snatched Samuel Ben, the councilor addressing Ward 6 Central in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. 



Representative of the State Police Command, SP Odiko Macdon, who affirmed the kidnapping on Tuesday, September 28, said examination is continuous. 


Macdon said the casualty was grabbed at his fuel station premises on Saturday, September 25 at about 8p.m. 


Macdon depicted the episode as "exceptionally tragic and unsatisfactory'', saying that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Andrew Amiengheme, has requested an examination concerning the occurrence. 


"We have gotten primer report about the episode and we are dealing with it. As I talk, an attentive examination is on-going, so I can't deny the way that we have that current information. A great deal is being done as of now and in no distance time, I figure he will be liberated," the PPRO expressed. 


"I would prefer not to provoke the result of the examination and endeavors made by the police to guarantee the casualty is liberated,'' Macdon said. 


Macdon added that the police would guarantee that the culprits are brought to book. 


Additionally talking, a family source who mentioned namelessness said the councilor was grabbed when he was considering business at his fuel station. 


"The spouse and the councilor came to check out the record and to take some cash home when the episode occurred,'' the source told NAN. 


The source said the councilor took cash to his vehicle, while the spouse was locking the workplace entryway. 


"As this was occurring, the shooters entered the fuel station and kidnapped the councilor,'' the family source added.
