Tragic happened as Massachusetts mom dies by suicide days after giving birth to twins

Ariana Sutton, a dancer and mother of three whose husband is a police officer in Massachusetts, committed suicide on May 31 after giving birth to twins. As they raise awareness of postpartum depression, her family is requesting community support.

According to Catherine Sutton, Ariana's sister-in-law, the family wants to ensure that mothers are not ashamed to take care of their own mental health.

She said, "It's so important that you ask for help." It's worth it to share our story if another family can avoid what we're going through right now.

The twins, who were born one month early, are currently residing in Newton-Wellesley Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, where they are anticipated to remain until the official due date at the end of the month.

"It is with crushing sadness that we share the unfortunate insight about Ariana Sutton, a caring mother who unfortunately ended her own life just a short time subsequent to conveying infant twins," peruses the cause request on GoFundMe. " We can offer this family our love, strength, and financial support to help them through their difficult journey despite the immense weight of this tragedy."

A delicate, kind individual'

Sutton, 36, kicked the bucket May 31 at her home in Norton, as per her eulogy. Together with her sister Rayna Flaherty, she co-owned Starline Academy for the Performing Arts in Stoughton. She leaves behind her husband, Easton police officer Stephen "Tyler" Sutton, 4-year-old Melody Ki, and newborn twins Everly Irene and Rowan Stephen Sutton.

Jason, Tyler Sutton's brother, stated, "He's one of those guys who loves doing his job and helping people." Ariana was described as a "very gentle, kind human being" by him.

Starting around Monday evening, well-wishers had vowed $233,685. The family's long-term finances will be bolstered and childcare will be funded thanks to donations. Relatives who set up the allure said they wanted to bring issues to light about post pregnancy anxiety and emotional wellness both during and after pregnancy.
