We, Wakabia media bring to your notice what just happened in Abuja right now: The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested six individuals suspected of vandalism during the festive season.
Monica Ojobi, the Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, revealed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
According to Ojobi, the arrests were made at various locations within the FCT by operatives of the command during the Christmas celebrations.
One of the suspects, a 27-year-old man, was apprehended in the Life Camp/Kado area while attempting to vandalize armored cables.
Another suspect, a 28-year-old man, was arrested along the Yar’Adua Expressway near the Airport Road, caught in the act of vandalizing solar panel poles and FCMB billboard poles.
In addition, an 18-year-old male was found in possession of vandalized parts of an El-Rufai commercial bus at the same Yar’Adua Expressway.
The statement further disclosed that three other suspects were caught with various vandalized items, including streetlight poles, bulbs, fencing iron hooks, and nine shovels, among other materials.
Ojobi stated that the suspects are currently under investigation and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
