Here in the US, the base level Macan has recently been added to the Porsche website, and you can build your own here, starting at $47,500, nearly seven thousand dollars less expensive than a Macan S. With 252 horsepower on tap, the base Macan can still sprint to 60 in just 6.3 seconds. The Macan shares its MLB-based archetecture with the Audi Q5 and the Volkswagen Tiguan, but makes more power than either and has Porsche-tuned suspension and all-wheel-drive. It's about seven grand more expensive than the Q5, but offers a number of options that the Audi can't hold a candle to.
In case you still aren't convinced, AutoCar India recently got their hands on a base Macan to properly review. The Asian market, of which India is a very large part, is extraordinarily important for this base Macan's success, so it would make sense that they would get first crack at the car. The video below is the result.
