Few days to New Year 2021 - Police arrest 15 suspected armed robbers

 The Police Command in Lagos State has captured 15 speculated furnished looters and a faction individual from the 'Eiye Confraternity', a couple of days to the New Year festivity. 



This is contained in an assertion endorsed on Tuesday by the Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. 


Adejobi said that the captures was essential for police endeavors to ensure lives and property in the state particularly during the 'Ash months'. 


"The order had been on the path of lawbreakers who have been threatening residents and inhabitants at key areas, particularly in Ikorodu and Lekki/Ajah zones of the state," he said. 


He said that a police reconnaissance group connected to Ikorodu Division of the Command, on Monday, attacked some 'dark spots' in Ikorodu where 14 presumed cultists were captured. 


He said that one Taiye Lasisi, 20, of Agunfoye, who was instrumental to the attacking of the dark spot zones, was captured with a privately made gun. 


Others captured are Segun Ariyo, otherwise known as Zangalo, Kazeem Akinpelu, Ibrahim Oni, Tobi Awoyefa, Yusuf Okunlowo, Oyesanya Damola, Bola Hassan, Toheeb Adesina, and Hassan Ashiru. 


"Onafowokan Michael, Folahan Adeola, Damilola Adeola, and Julius Ihara were likewise captured," Adejobi said. 


He recorded the shows recuperated from the suspects as eight iPhones, two Tecno telephones, one Nokia telephone, three sacks, one dark belt and a white hanky containing four lighters. 


"A dark nylon containing some neighborhood charms, some exhausted and live ammo and two dark 25 liter barrels containing skuchies (a privately blended mixed beverage) were recuperated from them," he said. 


Adejobi said that the police agents in Akodo Division, likewise captured one speculated cultist, Lekan Razak, 20, while endeavoring to ransack at No. 25, Ibomide St, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. 


"The suspect, who admitted to being an individual from Eiye Confraternity, was captured with a privately made gun with some live cartridges," he said. 


He said that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu, had requested for the exchange of the suspects to the State CID Panti, Yaba for prudent examination. 


"Odumosu repeated his zero capacity to bear cultism and different violations in the state," Adejobi said.
