Five Internet fraudsters jailed for Internet Fraud in Ibadan

Equity Patricia Ajoku of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday, March 17, indicted and condemned five men for web extortion. 



The convicts are: Omosehin Sina, Yusuf Olajide Bello, Olowosogba Olamilekan Samson, Bakare Omolayo Toheed and Sodiq Oluwasegun Adefila. 


As indicated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the men were indicted for the charge of criminal pantomime, in opposition to Section 22(2)(b)(ii) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC.) Act, 2015 and culpable under Section 22 (2) (b) of a similar Act. 


The fraudsters conceded to their separate accuses in line of the states of the request deal concurrence with the Commission. In light of their requests, arraignment counsel, Ben Ubi and Chidi Okoli welcomed Umara Uyah, Nafiu Sa'ad and Usman Babangida Mohammed to audit realities the case as witnesses. 


The court therefore indicted them as charged and condemned Omosehin and Olowosogba to four years prison term each, while Yusuf acquired eighteen months prison term. 


Bakare was condemned to four months while Adefila packed away three months detainment. Their sentence anyway produces results from their dates of capture 


The convicts are to restore various entireties to their casualties and furthermore relinquish the things recuperated from them to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
