NAPTIP reunites human trafficking victim with her family after 20 years

 An illegal exploitation casualty has been brought together with her family following 20 years by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Offenses (NAPTIP). 



The casualty who was brought together with her mom (name retained) at the royal residence of Idu Uruan Village Head in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom on Saturday April 24, was removed at six years old from Idu Uruan to Benin City by a lady who gave her out to another lady. 


Ijeoma Uduak, Commander of NAPTIP, Benin Zone said the two ladies had been captured by the organization. 


Uduak said; 


"Indictment is progressing to guarantee that equity wins. 


"Our errand here is to satisfy part of our order as an office that is against illegal exploitation, and one that salvages and reunites casualties with their families. 


"This casualty was detracted from the study hall at six years old, she had no contact with her family for quite a long while. 


"Her captor probably utilized all way of stunts to hoodwink the youthful and guiltless psyche; today we praise leap forward and opportunity." 


It was discovered that the casualty's mom communicated bliss that her girl got back following 20 years. She said; 


"Our conviction at home was that she is dead, no one accepts that we will meet her once more, we are grateful to God Almighty." 


She additionally lauded the Federal Government and NAPTIP for their obligation to handling illegal exploitation.
