Akwa Ibom established a $100 million education fund for students with physical challenges

 A 100 million-dollar Education Intervention Fund has been established by the Akwa Ibom State Government to assist physically challenged students enrolled in public tertiary institutions throughout the state.


Lead representative Umo Eno made the declaration during a civility visit to Government House in Uyo by the College of Uyo section of the Public Relationship of Understudies with Handicaps, drove by President Friend Emmanuel Shrewdness.



Lead representative Eno said the improvement was comprehended having a place and to highlight the consideration drive of his organization.


The goal is to support them and make their lives easier. Eno stated, "At the very least, if they want to go to school, let's pay their tuition because they are doing very well and even better than some people who are not challenged."

Eno stated that the Ministries of Education, Women's Affairs, and Social Welfare, the Office of the Accountant-General, and the Secretary to the State Government will oversee the fund's disbursement.


He noticed that the expenses are paid straightforwardly to the recipients' schools and recompenses are given to the understudies after due profiling, and cautioned against administrative bottlenecks in the dispensing.


Although it is only 100 million, we may occasionally increase it. I don't need the administrative bottleneck of them applying and there is no cash, so we put the cash there for you to oversee and give us the report, yet if it's not too much trouble, how about we check and ensure these are the perfect individuals and energize them," Eno said.
