A presumed kid dealer, Ekene Duru, and his associate have been captured by men of the Rapid Response Squad in Enugu state for taking two youngsters in Abia state and dealing them to Port Harcourt, Rivers state to a specific lady who auctions them to couples who are yet to invite their own kids.
While being cross examined, Ekene admitted that he approaches taking kids as meager as two years of age
My name is Ekene Duru and I sell kids. I take kids and convey to individuals. I take offspring of around 2 years of age and auction them to a lady who remains in Port Harcourt.
I take the youngsters from Umuochala, Ariaria intersection in Aba, Abia state. ''
On how gets the youngsters to follow him, Ekene said
I get them bread roll or egg. After I take them I will enter a bike or tricycle. No one stops to ask me who possesses the kid and the youngster also won't cry when I convey them.
Ekene said he has just taken two youngsters up until this point and has sold them both. He said he sold one of the taken kid for N200, 000 and another for N100, 000.
His assistant, Chinonso Sylvanus, asserted that Ekene contracted him to take youngsters.
